Juicy and spicy, they have great flavour so you will not need any additional seasoning. These qualities make any canned pork dishes very easy and tasty!
Here are our 3 canned pork dishes that you can have for all three meals of the day.
Breakfast: Spicy Pulled Pork Sandwich
Dinner: Spicy Stir-fried Spaghetti
Before we begin, it is good to start preparing the spicy canned pork cubes first.
As they are canned in oil, it is a good step to drain off as much of the oil first before cooking them. That way, your dishes won’t be too greasy, and you’ll save yourself some calories!
All the pork cubes are also shredded for the dishes. So, you can go ahead and mash the cubes with a fork first before cooking.
Now, let’s cooking our the canned pork dishes!
Breakfast- Spicy Pulled Pork Sandwich
Breakfast sandwiches usually consists of egg, bacon and cheese. Today we are swapping out the bacon for some delicious spicy pork.
It is extremely flavourful and the cheese helps to tone down some of spice. Hence, if you can’t take too much spice, this sandwich is still great for you!
Start with preparing the bread. Melt the butter in the pan and coat both side of your bread in the butter. Then let the bread toast on the pan until both sides are golden brown.
You can skip this step by simply popping your bread in the toaster but frying them in butter makes them more flavourful and crunchier!
For the filling, heat up some oil and pour in the egg on low heat. Sprinkle on the cheese when the top of egg is still runny then spread the shredded pork over it. Then carefully fold the egg into half.
Sandwich the egg in between your toasted bread and breakfast is done!
For lunch, let's go with something Asian.
Lunch- Century Egg Tofu with Spicy Pork
Century Egg Tofu is a chilled Chinese dish that is both spicy and savoury, just like the spicy pork cubes! Thus, adding the spicy pork cubes still retain the traditional flavours of the dish while adding a meaty oomph to it.
Although we are not serving chilled tofu today, you definitely can if you like it cold. Check out the original recipe here with some steamed dang gui chicken!
Start with laying the shredded spicy pork cubes on top of the tofu and steaming it for 5 minutes. #Tip: if you don’t like steamed tofu, you can dice it and deep fry instead!
While it is steaming, mix all the sauce ingredients together to make the sauce. Pour it over the tofu when it is done then garnish with chopped century egg and spring onions.
That’s it! This dish is addictive, especially if you love savoury and spicy food.
Best eaten with a bowl of rice, it’s a complete meal with double portions of protein!
Dinner- Spicy Stir-fried Spaghetti
We know what you are thinking. Stir-fried spaghetti?!
But trust us, this canned pork dish is absolutely delicious, and it looks and tastes like it came out of a restaurant!
Start with boiling your spaghetti just a minute or two under as it says so on the packaging. As the spaghetti will be stir-fried later on, you’ll want your pasta to be just a little under. That way it will be perfectly cooked at the end of the dish.
To prepare the sauce, stir-fry the shredded spice pork cubes and squid for two minutes. Then add the chopped tomatoes, ketchup, and salt to the pan and mix well.
Add the drained cooked spaghetti to the pan and stir-fry it to mix well and absorb the sauce.
Plate your spaghetti on a dish and garnish with coriander. Dinner is served!
