Ingredients
Beef Katsu Sandwich
  • 2slices Sunshine Enriched Softmeal Whole Grain bread
  • 360g Ribeye steak1 inch thickness, room temp, cut into half
  • 2tsp sea salt
  • 2tsp black pepper
  • 1tbsp all-purpose floursieved
  • 1 eggbeaten
  • 20g Japanese Panko
  • 4tbsp Tonkatsu sauceready-made
  • peanut oilfor deep frying

  • White cabbageshredded
  • Sesame mayonnaise
  • French fries
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the beef
  1. Season the beef with salt and pepper on both sides. Let it sit for 15 mins.
  2. Coat the beef with a thin layer of flour on both sides. Pat off any extra flour.
  3. Coat it with egg.
  4. Coat it generously with panko.
  5. Pour oil into a pot and insert a thermometer. Once the oil has reached 180oC, place the beef into it and deep fry 45 sec. Remove the pot, and place it on a plate, let it rest for 5 mins.
  6. Heat up the oil and let it return to 180oC, deep fry the french fries as per the packaging.
Step 2: Toast the bread, assemble and serve.
  1. Toast the Sunshine Soft MealĀ® Whole Grain bread. Trim off the crust.
  2. Apply Tonkatsu sauce generously on both slices of bread.
  3. Place the fried beef steak on 1 of the bread slice, cover with the other bread slice.
  4. Slice the sandwich and serve with the sides.
