Ingredients
- 2 slices Sunshine Hokkaido Milk Bread
- 1 1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 block brie sliced into 6 pieces
- 1/2 Granny Smith green apple sliced thinly, as desired
- 1 tbsp butter softened to room temperature
- 1 boneless chicken thigh remove fats
Chicken marinade
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp cuming powder
Instructions
Marinate and cook the chicken
- Marinate the chicken thigh with salt, pepper, garlic and cumin powder. Cling wrap and chill for at least 1 hr.
- Remove from the chiller and let it sit in room temperature for 20 mins to return to room temperature.
- On a sauté pan, heat up 1 tbsp oil. Add in chicken and let it cook for 3 mins on medium heat. Flip and cook the other side till it’s fully cooked through.
- Remove chicken from pan and let it rest of 5 mins. Shred it with 2 forks.
Prepare the spread and assemble the sandwich
- In a small bowl, combine mustard and maple syrup. Spread it on the bread.
- Lay the shredded chicken.
- Add 3 slices of apple, or as desired, on each sandwich.
- Add another 3 slices of cheese on top of the apple and close it with a slice of bread.
- On both sides of each sandwich, spread a thin layer of softened butter.
Grill the sandwich and serve
- Pre-heat a large sauté pan over low heat. When it’s hot, add in the sandwich. Cover with a lid and cook for about 2 minutes until the underside is brown.
- Flip the sandwich carefully, cover, and cook for another 2 minutes until the second side is golden brown and the cheese has completely melted.
- Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
