Ingredients
- 1 can Ayam Brand Saba Mayo
- 1 pck puff pastry store bought
- 1/4 red onion chopped
- 1/4 carrot chopped
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
- flour for dusting
- egg wash 1/2 beaten egg +1 tbsp water
- coriander garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the pastry
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Lightly dust your workspace with some flour then lay the puff pastry out. Cut each piece into half then place one half on top of the other.
- Use a cup or egg mould to cut out circles from the stacked halves.
- Place the cut pastries on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush the top with egg wash. Set them to bake for 20 mins at 180°C or until the pastry has risen and is golden brown.
Step 2: Prepare the filling
- In a bowl, add the saba mayo, red onion, carrot, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well.
Step 3: Assemble the cups and bake
- Using a knife, carefully cut a circle in the middle of the pastries and press it down until it is flat.
- Add the saba filling into the holes of the pastries and garnish with some chopped coriander.
